Why is Satan justifying the benefits of being in hell as opposed to heaven?

The majority of the responses agrue that Satan is justifying the benefits of being in hell because he has power. He realizes that everything he wanted in heaven is now within his reach. The fact that Satan believes that it is "better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven" was brought up in a few of the responses. Satan is persuading himself, as well as the other fallen angels, that their position in hell is much more beneficial to them as opposed to when they were in heaven. Satan is now the highest power in hell and can do as he pleases without having to answer to a higher power which was the main reason for the angels' revolt against God.
