My generative question today was: Why does Milton mention that the Devil is still bright and refers to him as an "Arch-Angel" thus keeping him connected to his former position?"
The responses I got mentioned that by keeping him connected to his past Milton: reminds the readers Satan used to be good; makes his transition that much more interesting and personal because if someone so good could become so evil, so could anyone; that Satan hasn't really changed and only his location has, and that his brightness will bring brightness to Hell. The ideas presented helped me to understand that element of the poem better. Also I agree with everything that was said and it is interesting to see it phrased in other ways and related to different things.
