For lines 622-662 in Paradise Lost, I asked, "Why might have God " concealed" his strength until the angel's disobedience?"
The first response, explained by the use of the words "tempted" and "concealed" to describe depceptive qualities of God, shows the Devil's belief that God was actually tempting his disobidience and purposely planned the Devil's fall. The next response agreed with the idea God's deceptive nature, stating that God chose to conceal his strength in order to test for possible traitors among the angels. The next response argues that God "concealed" his strength because he never needed to prove his supremacy, but after the angels rebellion, God used the fallen angels as an example to others to never doubt his rule. Relating God's ultimate wisdom to those of adults, the last response explains that God authority is unquestionable the same way parents' and adults' authority is incontestable.
