I focused on the passage from p.59 (suddenly) to p.60 (glance)
In this passage Marlow finally meets Kurtz, who he has been deeply interested it and desperately yearning to converse with. Earlier in this chapter the Russian describes how greedy and bossy Kurtz is, yet the Russian still adores Kurtz and will do almost anything for him. Marlow hears a lot about Kurtz before their meeting and expects him to be wonderful and honorable since he hears a lot of positive facts about Kurtz. When Kurtz and Marlow first unite, Marlow describes Kurtz as "thin" yet "commanding", contradicting words. Also, Marlow comments that the name Kurtz means short in German and then explains that Kurtz looked "7 feet long", another contradiction.
