Why has God banished Satan and the fallen angels to hell when it appers by doing so, more power has been given to the devils by God?

The responses to my question were varied. Some believed that more power was not given to them and others thought that they were banished in order to set an example for others. However, the majority agreed that more power was not given to Satan and the other fallen angels becuase they have been completely cut off from God and the heavens, making it almost impossible for them to cause any harm or damage. Although the majority argued the point that they were not given any power, I disagree and felt that these responses did not answer the question. Only from the last response was an answer able to emerge. They argued that God's initial intention was to eliminate the threat the devils presented, however, in doing so, God isolated them allowing Satan and the devils to congreagate and form a large group opposing the rule of God.
