Is it really better to reign in Hell than to serve in Heaven? What about the lesser devils serving in Hell--was the rebellion worth it?

The responses to this question were mainly homogenous. They agreed that the effort was worth it for Satan, as he was clearly not at all content just to rule. However, they also stated that although Satan's status was elevated, not all of the other devils were. In making Satan the new God of Hell, he is merely a replacement for God, not a real alternative. Therefore, the cost for the others was not worth it, as they lost Paradise for no actual shift in their positions.
